Equity, Trusts, Wills & Relationship Property

Alex specialises in all aspects of legal disputes involving family property. She represents family members and trustees dealing with issues involving wills, trusts and estates as well as clients who are separating or going through divorce in relation to the division of relationship property under the Property (Relationships) Act. She frequently acts in estate, trust and elder abuse matters involving lack of testamentary capacity, undue influence and financial exploitation. She has dealt with cases at all levels of the New Zealand court system including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Alex has particular expertise in dealing with the wide range of court applications available under the Administration Act, the Trusts Act (including applications for the removal of trustees and executors), the Wills Act and the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act including proceedings involving breach of duty by persons holding enduring powers of attorney. She also acts in court cases brought under the Family Protection Act and the Testamentary Promises Act.
